SOMETIMES WE SEE THINGS WE WOULE RATHER NOT SEE.  THIS IS ONE OF THOSE TIMES.<\/div>\n

TAKE THIS DRIVE IN THE COUNTRY\u2026ONLY TAKE TWO HOURS FOR MOST READERS<\/div>\n

You want something to do?  A chance to see some changes in our<\/div>\n
country that are inevitable but at the same  time disturbing.  A chance<\/div>\n
to see change happening before your eyes.   Change is the only sure<\/div>\n
thing in life.  Changes occur every day.  Irreversible.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
If you want to see change rather than read about it then take<\/div>\n
this simple trip.  It will not take long. Perhaps two hours or even<\/div>\n
less.  The road is paved but harrow.  The road shoulders are too<\/div>\n
steep to pull over.  Probably you would not want to pull over<\/div>\n
anyway.<\/div>\n

Best to start at Steeles Avenue  and the Fifth Line \u2026 Halton County \u2026drive south<\/div>\n
until the Fifth Line ends and curves over to Trafalgar Road.  <\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
What will you see?  You will see just how brutal change can be.  <\/div>\n
You will see Warehouses being built on a gargantuan scale.  You<\/div>\n
will see a land being flattened,  You will see jobs being created<\/div>\n
by the hundreds, perhaps thousands.  How many will Lululemon employ?<\/div>\n

And if you are there in time, you will see hints of what was once thousands<\/div>\n
of acres of fine top soil now piled into immense artificial hills high enough to<\/div>\n
blot out the horizon.   <\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
You will see the best top soil in Canada.  Yes, best in Canada.  You will see that<\/div>\n
soil being covered with concrete with black steel trusses popping up like nightmares in<\/div>\n
a horror show.    <\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
So consider the upside.. jobs being created for far more people<\/div>\n
than could ever be sustained in agriculture.  Measure that with the<\/div>\n
downside \u2026 the loss of soil.   Are we winners or losers?<\/div>\n
