THE NIGHT BEFORE JOE BIDEN BECAME PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES<\/div>\n

Sometimes pictures and words  just come together.  As if there is an unseen hand<\/div>\n
seeking  harmony over chaos.    That happened to night as we watched and listened to<\/div>\n
the Covid 19 memorial service in Washington.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
Who could help but be moved when Detroit Nurse Lori  Key burst forth with Amazing Grace?<\/div>\n
The whole service was done in the presence of the incoming President of the United States but\u2026BUT\u2026<\/div>\n
done in the complete absence of the narcissism of the outgoing president whose name I have <\/div>\n
forgotten.<\/div>\n

Earlier in the day I was  combing through my digital pictures  in search  of a mining photo when<\/div>\n
up popped the Lincoln Memorial and a rather unposed picture of a  Grade Ten  class we<\/div>\n
took down  to Washington from Parkdale C. I. years  and years  ago.  Kids with the faces<\/div>\n
of many lands.  Canadians who were idealistic enough to look to Washington as an example<\/div>\n
of good but a nation with an Achilles heal.  We ran  our fingers  along the Viet Nam war memorial\u2026<\/div>\n
understated monument that it is. One man stood there crying.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
And our kids  did something on impulse\u2026an act of unity that we hope will be the<\/div>\n
legacy of  President Biden.  The kids  built a human pyramid.   To do so everyone must<\/div>\n
work together\u2026must share the load.  And when that happens the pyramid can<\/div>\n
be capped.  What a powerful symbol this  day\u2026the eve of good things we hope.  If only This eve<\/div>\n
of darkness today will bring a  better day tomorrow.<\/div>\n

\u201cWe can but hope that good  will be the final  goal of ill.\u201d<\/div>\n
