Gordon Ball  managed to squirrel things away  much as a<\/div>\n
squirrel does with black walnuts.  Such was the case with<\/div>\n
the log built pump house.  <\/div>\n

\u201cPump House?  I do not see a pump in there.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cCarefull, the log house is  built on top of a deep cistern well\u2026then<\/div>\n
filled with cast of planks and  stuff\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cBuilding seems  full of wood\u2026 nothing more.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cRight, but once the wood is removed, then the rotten floor<\/div>\n
will be revealed.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cIs there a pump?\u201d<\/div>\n

\u201cWell, I\u2019ll be darned\u2026a filigree clad long handled  pump;\u201d<\/div>\n

\u201cJust state a  price\u2026but the pump is attached to s long pipe\u2026need  s cutter.\u201d<\/div>\n

\u201cFloor is  rotten\u2026could drop 15 or 20 feet into the cistern.\u201d<\/div>\n
