\u201cRight now, 8.15 a.m. on July 16\u2026Glenburnie Road, Mississauga\u2026got a picture<\/div>\n
quick\u2026here he is\u2026”<\/div>\n

\u201cWoody was barking his head off just behind my ear as we looked out the truck window.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cWhat was  the coyote doing?\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cEating what was  left of a dead squirrel that a car squashed.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cDid  he hear Woody?\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cSure\u2026but did not give a damn.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cWhere did he go?\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cDucked into the Lack place\u2026(next door to us)\u2026he was about 10 feet from<\/div>\n
you as you came out our lane.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cI think he knows me\u2026loves me or hates  me.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cWhere did  you get that crazy, off the wall, idea?”<\/div>\n

\u201cAlan, do you  know what happened earlier this morning\u2026while you were asleep?\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cNope.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cWell there was  quite a fuss on the street.  A man came jogging down Glenburnie with two full<\/div>\n
grown Labradors\u2026and right behind them came the coyote\u2026almost at their heels.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cA  coyote could  not pull  down a  Labrador.\u201d<\/div>\n
Alan, you were not there.  The man was scared\u2026running.  He stopped to throw<\/div>\n
two rocks at the coyote but the stones  did not phase the coyote one bit. He loped<\/div>\n
along right behind them.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cWhat did  you do?\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cI got in the truck and tried to put it between the coyote and the man.  The coyote<\/div>\n
just circled the truck which drove Woody wild.  Barking like there is no tomorrow.\u201d<\/div>\n
Woody  probably remembers the coyote that tore a strip off his ass.\u201d<\/div>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t make light of it Alan.  The lady next door said  three coyotes  surrounded her<\/div>\n
when she took the baby for a walk.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cThe only coyote I have seen lately was the cute animal sleeping in the tangle of<\/div>\n
weeds at the back of our lot.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cHe sleeps  there all day long\u2026drives Woody mad\u2026Lucky that half our lot is fenced.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cNo matter what you say Marjorie, I like the coyotes\u2026beautiful animals\u2026great dancers\u2026<\/div>\n
intelligent \u2026survivors.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201c\u201dAlan, they are predators.\u201d<\/div>\n

\u201cPredators\u2026Shmeditors\u2026they are fascinating.  And they were here before we were here.   They have<\/div>\n
a right of residency.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cDr. Hawrluk (local  dentist) opened his  front door yesterday and a coyote was standing there.”<\/div>\n
\u201cMaybe the coyote had a toothache.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cDon\u2019t be silly\u2026\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cCoyotes do not have dental plans\u2026rely on charity\u2026but they have good teeth<\/div>\n
normally\u2026gnawing on squirrels, rabbits, raccoons and, if they are lucky, wayward cats\u2026the <\/div>\n
gnawing keeps their teeth in good  shape.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cAlan, stop that drivel\u2026this is serious business.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cSorry.  Just trying to make the point that coyotes have become part of our <\/div>\n
urban landscape.\u201d<\/div>\n

\u201cThey move so fast\u2026so delicatlely.   Look at the pictures I took\u2026almost seem like mirages\u2026like there<\/div>\n
was no coyote present\u2026just blurred images.\u201d<\/div>\n
