If you plan to raise bees then be prepared to get bitten.  Bees can be unforgiving if disturbed.<\/div>\n
Andrew was fully protected and cautioned me \u201cThe bees are going to be angry so do not<\/div>\n
get too close.\u201d They got me.<\/div>\n

How could I take that advice and at the same time put together a story?  Risks of<\/div>\n
journalism were faced just to get this story.   In the end the bees found me and I had<\/div>\n
to run like blazes to escape.  A couple landed on my skin but did not have time to bite\u2026to sting.<\/div>\n

I did know a little about bee keeping from my failing attempt at bee keeping many <\/div>\n
decades ago.  My failure may sound humourous but believe me it was not.  I became<\/div>\n
as angry as the bees.<\/div>\n

DECADES AGO I GOT AS ANGRY AS MY BEES<\/div>\n

FLASHBACK<\/div>\n

To understand how to raise bees requires hands on experience.  So I asked a friend  (at the time a friend) to help me.<\/div>\n
He was excellent.  Told me all the tricks\u2026except for one trick.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
\u201cAlan, he dropped in to visit when you  were at school.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cWhy?\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cHe chased me around the kitchen table\u2026scared me.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cYou must be kidding.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cNo..I do not want him around our house any more.\u201d<\/div>\n

So I called him up and raised proper hell.   I was as angry as<\/div>\n
my bees\u2026moreso.   Never heard from him again.  That day <\/div>\n
ended my bee keeping..   I burned the hive at the back of<\/div>\n
our home.  Had to do that anyway because it was an old<\/div>\n
hive.  If you raise bees, used new hives.  Mine was infeced<\/div>\n
with something called foul brood.   Deadly and dangerous<\/div>\n
so the bee keeping experience ended.<\/div>\n
