The autumn leaves are long forgotten now.  The joy we found in those autumn leaves need not be forgotten, however.<\/div>\n
My favourite factor graveyard shows off best when framed in snow and ice. <\/div>\n

There was a time a few years ago..decades ago\u2026when the graveyard of dead and long forgotten tractors could<\/div>\n
be found in every town, village or hamlet of Southern Ontario.  I loved the sight of these machines.  Especially if<\/div>\n
they showed the wear of time as this tractor graveyard clearly does.  Some readers may not agree.  No matter there<\/div>\n
is lots of room on this earth for people whose eye for beauty differs.   \u2018Bealjty is in the eye of the beholder, as you<\/div>\n
may know.    Best I not say where this tractor graveyard is located.   The owner may not want a troop of admirers<\/div>\n
who would get in the way of resuscitating a near dead tractor.<\/div>\n

The owners has welcomed me so often that I hope he and she will not be offended.  One gravestone belongs to<\/div>\n
me.  See if you can find a blacksmith forge in the yard.  That\u2019s mine and may be brought back to life.<\/div>\n

And Notice a new addition \u2026 a new gravestone maybe.  See if you can spot a well drilling rig that has just<\/div>\n
arrived.  Perhaps not dead.  Perhaps just in need of a transfusion.<\/div>\n

Places like this have had a deep affect on our lives\u2026Marjorie, Andrew, Kevin and I have all been struck by<\/div>\n
such pictures..  In my case I applied for sabbatical leave from Parkdale Collegiate long ago. And we spent a <\/div>\n
wonderful year researching and writing \u201cTechnology and Change in 19th century Ontario Agriculture\u201d at<\/div>\n
the University of Toronto.  My M.A. I was accepted in three departments of the university,\u2026History with Dr. JMS Careless,<\/div>\n
Fine Arts with Dr.Don  Webster, and Engineering with a bunch of engineering profs.   The end result was a 300 page<\/div>\n
tome that is on file several places\u2026.even the New York Historical Society in Cooperstown and Black Creek pioneer Village.<\/div>\n

I am not sure everyone who touched the 300 page creation actually read it.  Doubt that happened.  <\/div>\n
