This will forever be my New Zealand Cricket Team\u2026athletes all.<\/div>\n

This is a short episode .  A  stand alone episode.   Do you see the Cricket bat?   There is a warm story here.<\/div>\n

Marjorie, Andy and I did not have a lot of money.  Enough to rent a car but not enough to stay in hotels.  So we went<\/div>\n
camping as lots of New Zealanders do.  Many many campgrounds are available which I will talk about in my next<\/div>\n
episode.   This is devoted to my team\u2026cricket team.  Take a moment to look at each face.  Ignore the beer bottle.<\/div>\n

At one campground Marjorie and Andy were invited to go fishing by a couple of fellows with a boat and some spare<\/div>\n
fishing rods.  So while they were being buffeted by ocean waves, I was just lying around watching a very professional <\/div>\n
cricket team batting a ball around a sand beach.   Super athletes.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
\u201cHey,, we need another player..join us.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know how to play cricket.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cGood, we\u2019ll make you the pitcher (they had another name for the position)<\/div>\n
\u201cWhat do I have to do?\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cThrow the ball over hand at the wicket\u2026<\/div>\n
\u201cWicket?\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cThe shovel in the sand\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cBatter will try to hit it.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cNever done it before.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s why you are the pitcher.\u201d<\/div>\n
(the guy with the beer bottle never let go of the bottle as he walked into field.  <\/div>\n

So I Spent the afternoon with a bunch of guys and I think one female\u2026find her if you can.   They were much like our curling team back in Toronto.<\/div>\n
Lots of fun\u2026good natured\u2026not taking the world too seriously.  And looking forward to a pint of<\/div>\n
beer after cricket.  Some may want tea but I did not notice that.<\/div>\n

Our experience of New Zealand was just like that.  Easy to meet people.  Actually people who were<\/div>\n
genuinely interested in tourists.   As you will see in the next episode.<\/div>\n

The Secret?  Touring New Zealand from one campground to another.  Never staying in grand hotels<\/div>\n
whose costs were the same the world over.  High.   Campgrounds were cheap\u2026almost free.   We could <\/div>\n
tour New Zealand without starving just to pay hotel bills.  And we could meet super athletes like<\/div>\n
my New Zealand Cricket Team.<\/div>\n
