Sometimes\u00a0when things go wrong a person\u00a0comes along\u00a0to make<\/p>\n
things that seemed so difficult appear simple.\u00a0 Such happened<\/div>\n
to me when all seemed lost.\u00a0 My Rogers email \u00a0just stopped \u00a0receiving<\/div>\n
messages. \u00a0 I could send but not receive.\u00a0 I never knew who wanted<\/div>\n
to see me.\u00a0 Blank wall.\u00a0 No matter what I tried I got nowhere until<\/div>\n
the Leonards offered help.\u00a0 Rob and Michael Leonard…father\u00a0and<\/div>\n
son.\u00a0 Both computer literate.\u00a0 But both could not understand<\/div>\n
my failures to receive\u00a0emails.<\/div>\n

“Alan, I think we should convert to gmail.”<\/div>\n
“But that means a new learning curve.”<\/div>\n
“Right.\u00a0 But I will help you through the hoops.”<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
I am 83 years old.\u00a0 Michael is 16 years old. Quite an age<\/div>\n
gap.\u00a0 A gap that is not bridged very often. \u00a0 Michael took<\/div>\n
my seat at my computer. Turned to me and said.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“Show me how write\u00a0your\u00a0stories…the technical stuff. What\u00a0<\/div>\n
buttons do you push.?\u00a0 \u00a0How do you move pictures from your<\/div>\n
photo library to your scripts.?<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u00a0\u00a0I will help you move everything<\/div>\n
to gmail.”<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
And so began a 14 day Q and A.\u00a0 Normally, because of my age, I would<\/div>\n
be the lead and Mechael the follower.\u00a0 Not in this case.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
“Well. Alan, maybe I should write notes on stickies that you can<\/div>\n
fasten to your computer in case you miss a step or \u00a0two.”<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Normally, \u00a016 year old boys call me 'sir' or 'Mr. Skeoch' or do<\/div>\n
not talk to me at all.. Michael called me 'Alan' as he helped me<\/div>\n
through the hoops. \u00a0 I am amused and appreciative.<\/div>\n
