\u2018Last night I felt a little  bump on your shoulder, let\u2019s take  a look\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cANOTHER TICK!!\u201d<\/div>\n
\u2018Get the tweezers, I\u2019ll pull him of gently\u2026make sure his head does not detach.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cThere, got  him.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cAre  you sure?\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cWho can be  sure?  Ticks are so small at the beginning of their blood lust\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cNeed  a magnifying glass\u2026and even then  hard to spot.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cDoes he  have a head  or not?\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cNot sure.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cAre you sure that little speck is a tick?\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cNo, can\u2019t be sure until it gets bloated\u2026but not going to wait.”<\/div>\n
\u201cMaybe some of  our friends will be interested\u2026and cautious.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cRemember how a tick  got Bob Root and he then contracted  lemma disease\u2026nearly did  him in.”<\/div>\n
\u201cSeems a  bad year for ticks\u2026you have picked up three\u2026one was dangerous\u2026needed antibiotics.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cHow   come you get them and I don\u2019t?\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cCould be explained  by the fact you wear shorts and I tend to wear long pants\u2026\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cBut you had shorts on yesterday  as well as  me.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cRight.  Maybe my skin is  thicker and ticks have trouble latching oer skin”<\/div>\n
\u201cMust be  located  in a place where  I walk\u2026and you don\u2019t walk.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cBut where?\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cnow that is  a question I cannot answer\u2026wish  I could.\u201d<\/div>\n

Take a close look  at this copy of  the Star\u2026I was reading it when we pulled  the tick from Marjorie\u2019s shoulder\u2026SEE IF  YOU CAN  FIND THE TICK!<\/div>\n

YOU failed, right?  Now look again\u2026the tick  is that little dot barely visible  above the letter B.   Now see if you can find it on the full page of the Star.  Hint: Bottom left hand side<\/div>\n
WE  are  quite sure it is a tick\u2026not 100% sure\u2026but the way  the black  dot was attached  to the flesh seemed  odd\u2026like a tick.<\/div>\n

The scar\u2026treated  with an iodine solution  Marjorie got from the doctor after her first Tick bite.  She  will have to watch  to see if there is an infection\u2026a round bull\u2019s eye infection around the<\/div>\n
bite.   Not likely in this  case.   Often people do  not know they have a tick buried in their skin\u2026at least not until the tick fills  up  with blood and becomes the size of  a pumpkin seed only fatter and an<\/div>\n
ugly fleshy grey in appearance.  When  one of these is found get rid of  it carefully\u2026tweezers squeezed where the head of the tick has fastened itself\u2026then pull gently but firmly to make sure<\/div>\n
the tick releases its hold.  A sharp pull will snap  the  head off  and  that is  dangerous.  This tick never  got a chance to bloat with blood.  The picture of the  bloated tick is  a public  domain<\/div>\n

Where are those ticks living?  We have no idea but fields of  tall grass are popular with ticks so do  not try to start our old W6 International Tractor which is up to its belly in tall grass.<\/div>\n
It won\u2019t start anyway\u2026too much dirt in the gas tank.  Discovered after spending a bit of money getting everything else working.  Being bitten by  a tick would just \u201ctick me off\u201d all the more.<\/div>\n
