Yes, we attended Charley\u2019s Aunt at the Shaw Festival.   The play was<\/div>\n
originally written and performed in the 1890\u2019s.   That seems about where<\/div>\n
it should have stayed.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
There is one good line in the play\u2026.a line that has been repeated over<\/div>\n
and over until it has become a bad line.   \u201cI am Charley\u2019s aunt from Brazil\u2026where the<\/div>\n
nuts come from.\u201d   Must have been funny at one time.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
Cost us $93 a seat up front.   Money gone.  I am trying to find a redeeming<\/div>\n
feature of the play.    Ah, yes.  The actor playing at cross dressing as Charley\u2019s Aunt<\/div>\n
looks<\/div>\n
and acts like Mr. Bean.   He has that rubber face and looks at times<\/div>\n
like he has been hit with a water bomb or trash can lid.<\/div>\n

When the curtain went down on Act two I packed up and got ready to leave.<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
\u201cAlan, there is another act.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cYou must be joking.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cYou fell asleep.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cWish that were so.\u201d<\/div>\n

<\/div>\n
\u201cAlan, did you really tell those people taking a break outside<\/div>\n
 that there were seven more acts?<\/div>\n
\u201cI did. They were not amused. The man used a four letter word<\/div>\n
that starts with F.<\/div>\n

\u201cCome in, Act Three is starting.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cGive me a moment\u2026I have a person<\/div>\n
interested in buying my listening device\u2026started at $20-\u2026<\/div>\n
getting serious now we are down to $5.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cAlan, that is not yours to sell\u2026belongs to the Shaw Festival\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cThey got nearly $200 bucks from us, surely I can try to<\/div>\n
get $5 back.\u201d<\/div>\n
Someone will report you\u2026get you thrown out of here.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cReally? \u201c<\/div>\n
\u201cyes, really\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cIf we get thrown out then we will escape Act Three.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cGod,  I\u2019\u2019ll seen the damn thing for a buck\u2026just<\/div>\n
get thrown out.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cAlan, shut up\u2026.peopl;e are looking at you.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cSee that seat on the stage\u2026I am going to go and<\/div>\n
sit there\u2026perhaps begin to sing Send in The Clowns\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cAlan, you are making a fool of yourself.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cNobody is listening\u2026the Covid 19 separation gives everyone<\/div>\n
a good chance to stretch out and go to sleep.<\/div>\n

NOTE: as things turned out Act 3 was the best of a bad lot.  Why?<\/div>\n
Because one of the females had a nice scarlet dress.<\/div>\n

\u201cAlan, what happened to those two people you told there<\/div>\n
were 7 Acts.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cNever saw them again.\u201d<\/div>\n

on the bench\u2026caused them to miss Act Three.\u201d<\/div>\n
\u201cI sold my listening device for 50 cents to that guy on the bench.<\/div>\n
